Easter weekend didn't really turn out as we expected. Yesterday I woke up with a fever and it got worse as the day went on - at one time it was up to 104.5. Mom & I ended up going to the ER for the fun of it :) & then we went home & watched the Sesame Street - "Sing Yourself Silly" DVD 5 times in a row - 1 banana, 2 banana 1 for me & 1 for you banana :) I don't normally watch much TV but I did not feel like moving - can you believe it Dad I sat for more than 2 min? Some say it could be my teeth but we weren't for sure & did not want to get anyone sick. I have 8 teeth breaking through at once (mom & dad say I have permission to swear all I want right now)!!!!!! Anyway, I ended up staying home for the weekend. Dad ended up going down to Gram & Gramp Essick's so he brought me back my Easter gift.

Mom & Gramp were working outside today. I think they were going to work on the planter. Luke & I wanted to go out & help but it wasn't that nice out. We decided to farm inside instead.

AUNT GERRY
Last July we found out mom's Aunt Gerry had cancer - she passed away this week. She was only 62. I wish I could have gotten to know her she sounded like she was A LOT of fun. She loved to shop, go to the casino, read, travel & go to concerts. On the drive over Mom taught Dad & I a little song she taught her when she was little - "Oh Dubuque, Oh Dubuque how you really make me shiver with your nice clean streets & your Mississippi River. Oh I love you with my heart & I love you with my liver. Dubuque - by the river." Mom says she can still hear her laugh after she sang that song.
She will be greatly missed.

How embarrassing - Luke & I wore the same shirt to visitation :) Our mom's didn't even know they had bought the same shirt.

Before the funeral Mom, Dad & I went for a drive - they were trying to get me to take a nap :) We crossed the Mississippi & went to Illinois. It was a beautiful day!

Even my monkey tried to enjoy the day
After the funeral we had lunch at the Highstakes restaurant at Diamond Jo's. Gerry had some very good friends there. They closed the restaurant off for the family in memory of Gerry - they have NEVER done that before.
After lunch we walked over to the new National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. It was pretty COOL!
They said I was too young to go in the casino. We went over to Uncle Al's & Mom's cousin Erin taught me how to use Gerry's slot machine though.
She will be greatly missed.

We went back home today. It was great to see & finally meet everyone. Hope to see you all SOON!!! Take Care. (Mom wishes she had taken more pictures with the family - watch out the next time we see you :)

Dad went to DesMoines for meetings this week. So, Mom & I rode along tonight to Great Gram J's. Gramp needed my help fixing her recliners - I got to play with the tools :)

We went to pancake breakfast in Dickens today. The firemen were just coming back from a fire when we got there. THANKS for everything you do guys - & the pancakes are awesome too!! :)
